7th International Colloquium on Scientific and Fundamental Aspects of GNSS 2019

The 7th International Colloquium on Scientific and Fundamental Aspects of GNSS took place from 4 – 6 September 2019 at the IGP, ETH Zurich, Switzerland. It was organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) and ETH Zurich. The objective of this congress was to review the various possibilities of using GNSS satellites for scientific purposes and take stock of the current advances achieved under this program. This colloquium brought together members of the European scientific community and their international partners involved in the use of Galileo and other GNSS in their research. The conference was organized as a series of plenary talks, parallel half day sessions and poster presentations throughout the event. This edition counted with near 200 participants from 25 countries and a total of 134 scientific contributions, covering a large variety of scientific domains.

The ISPRS Commission III Symposium has been held every 4 years since 1970, since 2002 under the name “Photogrammetric Computer Vision”. Technical Commission III is the “theory and algorithms” commission of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. The symposium brings together experts on the mathematical and computational methods underlying geometric and semantic image analysis, from academia and industry.

Since 1970 the International Conference on Engineering Surveying is alternately hosted by the TU München, ETH Zurich and the Technical University of Graz. It has always been one of the most important and interesting meetings for practitioners and scientists in the engineering geodesy community. Following the proven scheme, 7 half-day tutorials with a strong focus on state-of-the-art and the direct practical applications were offered.
